Behavioral Leadership Theory
Introduction
The study is conduced to see how a leadership style and theory chosen by the managers, CEO, or Head of firms and Head of Departments (HOD) impacts the performance and outcomes associated with the company.  Based on a real world example, we will study the leadership theory, i.e. Behavioral Leadership Theory’s implementation to Apple Inc. and how this theory helped Apple Inc. achieve its goals and objectives.
Behavioral Leadership Theory
Behavioral Leadership theory comprises of attitudes and behaviors associated with the leading styles adopted by the company heads and CEOs (Yukl, 2019). Leadership quality in an individual usually comprises of behaviors associated with his job and his behaviors that he exerts on his employees to take work form them (Soski, 2018). A leader is someone who can make his employees work hard and motivate them to achieve their tasks (Liu, 2018). According to the leadership theory of behavioral leadership, an employee can only show the best performance if his boss has the skills of using the opportunity and utilising his human resource in the best way (Swain, 2018). An effective leader’s behavior should always possess skills of tolerance, good listening skills, flexibility to work with a diverse group of employees, risk taking abilities, skills of effective communication, ability to generate profitable outcomes (Soski, 2018). A successful leader will have the skills of a transformational leader, a democratic leader, autocratic abilities and coaching behavior so that he could guide his employees on how to achieve a task (Neves, 2018). Sometimes a leader should be a sort of hands-off person so that he can allow his employees to freely work in an environment where employees will learn through experience and will get a new exposure (Soski, 2018). A leader should also be the one who can compel his employees to follow the rules and regulations strictly; legalities and procedural processes described by the organisation so that decorum of organisation could be maintained (Yukl, 2019).

Case Study
When Steve Jobs started a new concept of Apple computers, he was the only man in the era with the most innovative new idea and a new technology shaping the world into a different frame. His Apple Inc was a competition for all the technological setups, especially for Bill Gates. For a long time, Steve Jobs earned the reputation of a successful leader with Apple devices that impressed and maintained high standards of Apple products. With his illness, downfall started, and there was a question mark to the future of Apple. To sustain, he fired the incompetent staff from the company, but still, the obstacles remained unresolvable. But still, IPhone and other Apple products enjoy the success ("Analyzing 5 Real-World Leadership Scenarios", 2019).
The new CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, has planned the launched of some new products. His first idea was to reduce the price of MacBook Air. With new products such as IPods and Apple watches; Cook claims that these products will be a defensive strategy for Apple to gain more success in future. He worked with a vision to provide more services that were planned in 2016 and will generate a profitable range of revenue in 2020. His plan includes the TV services with a subscription of new sites and magazines with a monthly fee ("Tim Cook to Investors: Apple is Working on Future Products That Will 'Blow You Away'", 2019).
Apple Inc. & Behavioral Theory Integration
Steve Jobs came with an Autocratic leadership style and worked to gain the success of outcomes with efficiency. He was the initiator of his idea without the assistance of any partner. His Autocratic Behavior is considered today a failure because he only focused on providing the best and efficient outcomes without the effective and efficient collaboration of partner or employees who could help to provide further ideas to sustain the success. His leadership was analysed as a weak leadership style as it could not sustain the long run success as Bill Gates has sustained with Microsoft.
The new CEO, Tim Cook, came with a Visionary behavior of the leadership in which he analysed the future trends. He has analysed that by effectively and efficiently using his resources, he can achieve a new beginning of success for the company. By gaining the belief of employees, a leader can achieve the effectiveness and efficiency of the workforce for generating progressive outcomes for the company (Kearney, 2019). He focused on leading the employees by enforcing in them the idea to work for gaining the progress in future. And his leadership style is appreciated as it is focusing on the future success that could be achieved in the coming years.
Conclusion
Steve Jobs leadership style as discussed above would not have been considered a failure if the autocratic behavioral approach had been used with the idea of gaining success by involving the employees in the idea to add more success factors. As Tim Cook has adopted a visionary leadership behavior with the analyses of all the aspects and risks that could be faced in future. He has implemented his plan by visioning his idea into the minds of his employees and brought this into consideration by motivating his employees to work on it and provide the best outcomes.
