Please write a 750-word persuasive essay responding to this question: Should we abolish national boundaries and open all borders? Critically assess this question, take a position, and argue in defense of it. Make sure to address the why this is a controversial issue in today's time and in the context of globalization. Use the list of readings below, as well as any other resources from the course, but do not conduct any additional research. Because the dominant view in this area is that borders are essential to politics in a globalized world, the resources below present a contrary view. In your essays, you must make reference to at least two sources:
·  Atossia Abrahamian, "An Economist's Case for Open Borders"
·  Joseph H. Carens, "The Case for Open Borders"
·  Bryan Caplan, "The Case for Open Borders"

I have reflected on the two articles like this, you can edit on it as needed:

Some people, like Bryan Caplan, in his article “The Case for Open Borders” that published in October 7, 2015, he thought about how to look to the new labors that came from foreign countries as an advantage to the local country.  He says in his article “Nor must we fatalistically take the good with the bad. The U.S. could impose surtaxes on immigrants’ earnings, then use the proceeds to cut taxes for low-skilled natives.”(Caplan, 2015) But I do not see this as fair behavior.  This means that migrants are exploited for the interests of the state in an immoral way.  They should not be allowed to enter the country as an excuse for exploiting the personal interests of the state.  Also, this is not a solution to the problems of jobs and staff, local people will suffer from the scarcity of jobs and compete with them with foreign migrants.  Also, in the long term, migrants may feel persecuted for doing so, which could lead to racial or even revolutions problems.  I do not see this as a sound behavior to solve this problem.
Moreover, some people like Alex Tabarrok in his article “The Case for Getting Rid of Borders—Completely” that published in Oct 10, 2015, he argues that the migrants are of interest to the local people. He says” Immigration unleashes economic forces that raise real wages throughout an economy. New immigrants possess skills different from those of their hosts, and these differences enable workers in both groups to better exploit their special talents and leverage their comparative advantages. The effect is to improve the welfare of newcomers and natives alike.”( Tabarrok,2015)  As I said earlier that foreigners will increase the competition for jobs with the local population, this applies also to this situation, especially as foreigners have different skills that may exclude the local people from competing for a job because they do not have the skill possessed by the foreigner.  It is true that the impact will be positive on the arrivals from other countries, but at the same time will have a negative impact on the local population

Should We Abolish National Boundaries and Open All Borders?
The matter of open borders is under consideration from various years as it has the ability to influence both economic and moral condition of the countries. Borders have armed guards who are keeping a close eye on the people who try to cross the border. Although it is a common stereotype that guards are there to protect one but the border guards can be quite violent if they spot any unusual activity. The guards can be used for preventing the terrorists, criminals and invaders out from the lands, but they should not stop the innocent people who are going to another nation with the intention of peace. There should be no borders on earth, so humans can freely roam without arbitrary lines.
Boundaries have the power to cause inequality among nations. Not all the regions in the world are suitable for the huge economic activity. This is mainly because resources have divided into nature unevenly and due to this, the difference in wealth and income takes place. this difference is magnified by the governments as they ban the entry of immigrants, support religious intolerance and gender discrimination. The people do not have any other option than living a miserable life. even if the youth is motivated and talented enough to change fate, they are still unable due to lack of proper resources. Some of the times, when the overwhelming immigrants try to create a better life by moving to the country with better economic opportunity but their dreams are shattered by the forced repatriation of lawmakers and heads of the state.
Open borders can increase the GDP of the world by ten folds. This is mainly because geographic areas impact on the wages of employees. when the workers from undeveloped countries move to a developed one, then they can earn ten times more. They work hard for the host country then productivity increase and ultimately the financial benefits also enhance. On the other hand, when the earned money is sent back to the home country, then it can improve their GDP as well. however, currently due to closed borders, there is untapped potential and the total output of the world is suppressed (CAPLAN, 2015).
Open borders promote innovation, skills and knowledge. When the people from different cultural, educational and regional background work or study together, then they can raise the standards. This is mainly because due to differences in nation, immigrants possess different expertise and skills from their hosts and then this difference encourages both groups to better exploit their talents and gain maximum advantage. The students who study in different nations when they return to their home country, they can improve the standards of education because they have knowledge from two different nations. Moreover, when these groups work in collaboration, they can innovate new things by mixing diverse knowledge (TABARROK, 2015).
Closed borders can cause issues for tourists. There are various people in the world who are fond of exploring new things and places. They love to meet new people and learn about different cultures. However, some of the countries put strict legal requirements for visiting the country, which are nearly impossible to fulfill or they clearly ban the entry of immigrants. Although the tourism industry can contribute a significant amount in the overall economy and improve the GDP of the host country, even some of the tourist want to settle down in the country, then they will only bring more economic benefits. According to recent research, immigrants are hardly charity case. They come to the host country only for work only if the host country permits them to do so.
However, it is also necessary that there should be some rules and regulations for the immigrants in the host country, for instance, the European countries can make it necessary that the immigrants should be fluent in English. Knowing the language will make the work easier and also help in avoiding various conflicts. This is mainly because mass intrusion of immigrants can cause a serious threat to the freedom and safety of the hosts, but the entry should not be banned altogether or made too much difficult that various people lose the opportunity to make their lives better. Furthermore, the host countries can impose surtaxes on earning of immigrants and then use it for helping the low-skilled native residents. Open borders will be a huge benefit for both the host and home country. It is necessary that the nations take this issue seriously and come up with a solution which is win-win for both sides.
