Why did you choose the
concept?
The purpose of menu card
is to display items guests can enjoy at a restaurant. There are many
options in a menu card. In our menu card, we have included soups, salads,
entrees, vegetables, and so on. All the items are presented along with prices.
Guests can read the menu card without any ambiguity. The location and timings
are mentioned.
Why did you choose the
design?
I decided to formulate
restaurant menu using features of Microsoft word, rather than using templates.
The reason is that I wanted to gain knowledge about menus by making them
manually. There are different options when we formulate menus manually. We know
we can make any desired changes.
Why did you choose the
format?
The format is selected
because it is easier to read. The reader can know about each item and its
price. The menu card provides details about any specific cuisines offered at a
place or event. The customers get accurate description about any product, item
offered at a restaurant. The menu card format includes the name of dishes, price,
serving, size, and so on. This let the customers know what type of services are
offered. To make a more realistic impression, there are pictures of food
presented to our guests. This can be tempting to see image of dishes and easier
to order. We presented image of dishes which are our specialty.
How you determined the
layout?
I determined the layout
after watching menu cards of different restaurants. I have an idea about menu
cards in restaurants because I visit restaurant more often. I decided to use
images of favorite dishes to attract consumers to buy them.
What were the challenges
you had?
It was a time consuming
task. I had to select dishes, make a list of them, determine price, and so on.
I was confused while selecting dishes, because there are many items which are
very popular in USA but they are not part of our menu card. The reason of
excluding such items is that we wanted to keep the menu card precise.
What did you learn from
this?
It was an interesting
task. I have learned that we can use features of Microsoft word to design menu
cards for restaurants of our own choice. The way we presented items on menu can
attract consumers. Setting price of items is difficult. We need to have
competitive prices. The product description can appeal consumers to buy a dish.
There are many designs we can use to make our menu card more appealing for
customers.
