Reflection
on Computer Ethics
The
article regarding computer ethics is a quite informative approach in order to
resolve all my confusions about the revolutionary machine, invisibility factor
of computer ethics and the critical study on the computer revolution. After
reading this, it was quite difficult for me to understand the ethical influence
on the computerized world. James H. Moor effectively explores his understanding
regarding the computerized revolution in this technological world. According to
him, a computer is such type of specified technology which arisen some specific
ethical issues.
A proposed Definition
This
is quite informative to understand how the number of ethical issues has arisen
in this technological world. He uses computer technology as a subject matter,
and now in a technological world, computer ethics is majorly considered where
both social and individual policies are used for the ethical usage of computer
technology.
James
gives some examples in order to clarify the conceptual work like formulate a
policy for the effective protection of the computer programs. I also believed
that computer ethics is a dynamic and complex field of study that plays a major
role to conceptualizations, values and policies with the constantly changing
computer technology. Till now, there are no specific rules regarding the
computer’s ethical factor because both science and ethics have their own right,
which provides a better conceptualization for the effective understanding of
the policies for using the computer technology (Moor, 2004) . Before this
reading, it is quite difficult for me to justify this point, which discussed by
James in this met philosophy journal. I hope that in the near future, there
will be some major changes in the nature of computer ethics.
The Revolutionary Machine
In
his second revolutionary machine, he critically explores how much revolutionary
revolution is made in this technological world. It’s true that this age is a
digital era where every company and sector adopted computers in their operating
activities like James give the example of the new dripless pouring spout that
is the result of the revolutionary development. He majorly explored that if a
minor changing makes revolutionary changes then how much major development will
make changes in society. It’s true that in today’s world, a computer becomes a
major need for survival in this digital environment. I also support his
justification that qualification plays an important part in making this
revolutionary phase.
According
to him, the productivity of the revolutionary phase can easily see by
considering the abundant quantity of computers which are less expensive,
faster, smaller and more friendly and powerful than any other gadget. In this
portion, James majorly focuses on exploring the major features of the computer
and how effectively the industrial revolution is occurred due to this computer
development. He also discusses the other subsidiaries of computers like calculators.
He also discussed the mathematical language of the computer that its operating
activities are effective, and if any changes occurred in it, then the whole
process becomes affected. In short, he majorly worked on exploring the computer
technology concept and how effectively it will impact on the policies of using
it.
Anatomy of the Computer Revolution
In
this section, James majorly focuses on exploring the importance of computer
revolution in this technological world that all the social, political,
environmental, legal, economic and other every aspect of life is majorly
dependent on the industrial revolution. According to James, there were majorly
two major stages in England, like the first stage was based on making the
introducing stage of technology during end of the 18th Century. The
second stage was majorly based on the permeation stage of technology that
occurred in the Nineteenth Century. This is quite an informative study for me
to critically study the anatomy of the computer revolution because now there is
a great transformation of the operating activities of individuals from the
traditional method to the computerized one.
James
effectively explores the concept regarding the transformation of computer
technology in the financial institute development. Like it is used to count the
cash, transfer the money and make a more secure process of securing money. This
shows that the computer technology plays an important part in making an
effective change in the daily business, banking, domestic and international
level activity of a person. He also effectively discussed that in the future,
there will be a discussion on computer ethics. Accursing to him, there is a
logical malleability that ensures the enormous application of computer
technology.
The invisibility Factor
In
this last heading, James majorly explored different invisibility factors about
computer that has different characteristics, and its invisibility factor is one
of them. He professionally explores the three kinds of invisibility factors
that are having an ethical significance. James majorly tried to explore
different varieties of invisibility factors like a central computer can easily
monitor the work on the computer terminals. According to him, the second one is
based on its invisibility factor that more effectively fascinate me as compared
to the first one
This
is one of the important factors to critically consider in the year 1976, there
are many difficult calculations were occurred when the four color conjecture is
used in computer working. He also explained the ethical issues in order to make
maximum trust in the invisible calculation of the computer. It has now become a
basic need because it is also used in the defense purpose of a state. He also
discussed that majority of the countries used nuclear weapons in their military
department and made an effective assessment of the situation. James also
explores the partial solution to the invisible problems that may occur in
computers. He said that there is a dilemma regarding the invisibility factor.
According to him, the invisible programming plays an important part in the
invisible miscalculation. There are many challenges faced during this
implication of computer in the society and major one is the existence of dilemma
regarding its negative impact on human being. He concludes his discussion that
people must trust in computers in order to survive in this world. This article
is one of the important sources to study computer ethics critically.
