Muscat and the Trucial States
You will be doing some research for this course and then writing a paper that reports on your findings.
For the research, you should locate and use a minimum of 2 (two) primary sources and 1 (one) secondary source. Your primary sources may be found in the digital archives accessed through the Library’s newspaper and historical archive databases. If you choose to use primary sources other than those, please have them approved before you begin your research. A good secondary source is one of the textbooks or readings that we have used in class.
Your research report should be 4-5 pages long. For information on formatting your paper properly and using correct citations, please refer to the Social Sciences Style Guide on Blackboard.

Reports about British activities in the region during WW1 and WW2
Reports about the Buraimi Dispute
Reports of Lord Curzon’s “durbar” in Sharjah
